- The breakfast sandwich I made on a ciabatta roll earlier today (technically it was a lunch sandwich, if we’re going by timing, but it was a breakfast sandwich in its essence).
- Reading the excellent The Seep by Chana Porter, which had all the flavors of New Weird that I love in Jeff VanDerMeer’s work, but with a very gentle, thoughtful focus on identity and grief.
- Having a long cuddle/nap with Orpheus earlier this afternoon.
- Knowing there’s only five more work days until I go on vacation.
- The feeling of knowing one writing project will soon be finished, and that another will soon begin.
- Pictures of my new nephew in the family group chat.
- Anticipating a lovely walk later this afternoon.
- Getting takeout later, if I hit my word goal for the day (if not, I’ll cook a fancy dinner for myself here, so really, I win either way).
- My growing collection of fancy tea cups and saucers.
- The slow but satisfying process of cleaning out my apartment.
- Books. Always and forever, books.
